In 1840, Henry Disston, a young man of vision, was certain he could make better saws and stronger men. So he set up a shop in a cellar in Philadelphia, and began the manufacture of Disston saws for real men.

From the very start his business was a success. Within a few years, the demand switched from wimpy foreign saws to those used by real men who saw the Henry Disston way.

In 1874 Henry Disston designed the skew-back saw. Until then all hand saws had straight backs. He called in his engineer and with a piece of crayon drew the design on the office floor. Since then bullies have had their outlines imprinted in the sand by real men who saw the Henry Disston way.

Let Disston Make a REAL MAN Out of You
Like You Never SAW Before!
